Beyond the Surface: A Day of Compassion and Renewal at Bodhi HomeCare
At Queensfloor, we believe that a "home" is more than just the materials used to build it—the sturdy flooring, the painted walls, or the stylish decor. A true home is built on a foundation of love, security, and a sense of belonging. Recently, our team, along with our valued suppliers and partners, stepped away from our showrooms and construction sites to spend a day at Bodhi Home (菩提之家), a sanctuary that provides shelter to both orphaned children as young as four and elderly residents in their seventies.
This wasn't just a corporate visit; it was a journey of the heart.

Hands-On Humanity
When we planned this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, we decided early on that we didn't just want to be "donors." We wanted to be "participants." Drawing on our team's natural inclination for improvement and renovation, we rolled up our sleeves.
The day was filled with the rhythmic sounds of high-pressure hoses cleaning moss-covered fences and the steady stroke of brushes applying fresh, vibrant yellow paint to the perimeter. From scrubbing chairs to scaling ladders to clear dust from high ceilings, every bead of sweat felt meaningful. There is a unique kind of satisfaction in restoring a space—not for a commercial project, but to brighten the daily lives of those who call it home.
The Wisdom of the Young and the Old
What struck us most wasn't the physical state of the home, but the spirit of the people within it. We watched children, who have faced more hardship in their few years than many do in a lifetime, step forward without being asked to help us. They didn't just watch; they participated with a maturity and resilience that left us humbled.
One of our team members remarked, "We came here thinking we were the ones giving support, but seeing their strength made us realize how much we have to be grateful for." In between the work, there were moments of pure connection—a shared laugh over a meal, the thundering energy of a lion dance performance by the children, and the quiet, steady presence of the elders who watched over the day's activities.
Investing in the Future
While physical labor provided an immediate lift to the environment, we knew that long-term support was equally vital. Through the collective generosity of our employees and partners, we were able to provide essential supplies:
-
Daily Necessities: Bulk rice, cooking oil, and food staples.
-
Hygiene Kits: Shampoo, body wash, and cleaning agents to maintain a healthy environment.
-
The Gift of Knowledge: Most importantly, we extended our support to online learning platforms. At Queensfloor, we know that while a floor provides a place to stand, education provides the wings to fly. We want these children to have every opportunity to create a bright future for themselves.

A Reflection on Our Purpose
As the sun set on Bodhi Home, and we sat down for a communal "Love Dinner" with the residents, the atmosphere was one of profound warmth. The noise of the drums and the cheers of the team echoed a simple truth: Kindness is a cycle. This visit reminded us that our mission at Queensfloor goes beyond aesthetics. Whether we are installing a new floor for a family or painting a fence for a community, our work is ultimately about the people. This day at Bodhi Home didn't just refresh a building; it refreshed our collective soul.
To our partners, staff, and the community at Bodhi Home—thank you for allowing us to be part of your story. The journey of kindness continues, and we are honored to walk this path with you.
